Joshua Lawrence Chamberlain

Joshua L. Chamberlain
He started off be being a college professor in Maine. He was also a war specialist and studied war tatics.
During the American Civil War he VOLUNTEERED to join the Union Army. As the Civil War contiued he was promoted to Union Officer, reaching the rank of Brigadler and also Brevet Major General.
He fought in the battel's

  • battle of peterburg
  • Appomattox Campaign
  • second battle of Petersbug
Joshua was awarded the Metal Of Honor after the war Joshua got into politics.
He became the 32nd governer of Maine , he also serves four-one year term of office as governer.
At the end of his late carrier , at 70 years of age Joshua tried to volunteered again for the Spanisg- American war but got rejected . He claimed that that was one dissapointment in his carrer
later he lived for fifteen more years and died at the age of 85 in Portland, Maine
